D271: Shawn

Portrait of my 16 year old nephew.  I refer to him as Chef Shawn because he loves to cook.  I'm not just talking about hamburgers or hot dogs but full course meals.   Last night dinner was baked chicken with his own teriyaki sauce (he will not divulge the ingredients) , Garlic mashed potatoes, Fresh green beans and a side salad. Dessert was homemade pound cake with lemon icing.  His brothers are so lucky.

D268: Out for a Walk

I decided to do my stroll around the lake earlier than usual.   As I came to the end of my 3 miles,   this little family walk across the path.   Since I always have my camera with me, I couldn't resist taking a few shots of this cute family.  As I was taking solo shots of the babies, I notice father duck walking towards me.   For the next 5 minutes we played a round about game of red light, green light. I take two steps to the right he took two steps to the right.  He let me know not to get too close and when I did he honk at me.  So per his request, I kept my distance.  I took a few more shots and then I thank father duck for allowing me to take pictures of his babies.  He honk "Thank You" :)

D266: Flower or Shrub?

Couldn't recall if this was a flower or shrub. I've been helping a friend move for the last three days. Today we moved the last load.   My body hurts in places I didn't even know exist.  Didn't have to much time to take my potd. I notice this shrub outside the garage as I moving things into the house.  I ran to my car to get my camera, took 3 or 4 pics and continue moving.    I finally made it home around 11pm. Uploaded this picture straight from camera.  Now I'm off to sit in a nice warm bath. I was able to get my reading done when we took a lunch break.

D259: Sitting on a Ritz

I practiced shooting food images today.   I shot this setup from several different angles and I'm not sure which one I like best.  I actually waited too late in the day to shoot this setup, so I had to deal with shadows on the plate and wall.  Things I would do different next time?   Use no salt crackers, have several different cheeses on hand,  maybe add a prop (glass of wine, grapes, etc)  I'm open to suggestions.
