The Dancer

On mezzanine in one the buildings where I work is a statue of a famous Dancer.  Although I pass this statue almost daily, I can not recall the name of this dancer.  Today I notice the shadow of this statue and It remind me of Maya Angelou's poem "Phenomenal Woman"

Snazzy Bag

I saw this handbag in the window of one of the local stores. I snap a picture to send to my sister and thought it would make a nice potd. The yellow line across the flap is the reflection from the window. Added a fun frame from ps express.

Moon on a Wire

It was cold this morning, so  I sat in my car waiting for my train to arrive at the station.    As I was waiting, I notice the moon was slowly starting to descend.  I then notice the power lines and thought it would be a cool shot when the moon appear to be resting on lines.  It look as if it could just roll along on those lines.

I was satisfied with this shot. Just wish I knew photoshop so that I could remove the tree branches.

My trusty blackberry died today.  When most of my friends jumped on the droid/iphone bandwagon , I stuck with my blackberry. After many years of use, it played out today.  : (    I am now officially an iphone user.

Mother Nature's Gift

Mother nature decided to grace the bay area with a little rain today.  I found this beautiful leaf stuck to the driver's side window of my car.  I had already taken my picture of day, but thought this would make an even better picture. Took a few pics from outside, then went around and took some more pics from the passenger seat.   I like the end  results.

Another Sunset

Sunsets and Sunrises are my favorite subjects to photograph.  I could go out and shoot them everyday.  I miss the sunrise this morning but I did catch the sunset.  It was a little hazy out near the Suisun Marsh, but the colors did pop.

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Rode over to  Pillar Point in Half Moon Bay to check out the waves. This is the  location of the Mavericks surfing contest which is being held tomorrow. The best of the best will be there.  I forgot how insane the traffic is during this time. With no place to park, I continued on to Pigeon Point Lighthouse.

Decided to an abstract today.  This is three trash cans that set up in a row and then shot  at an angle. The stripes in the cans are create by the reflection of vertical blinds hung in front of huge picture windows.

Three Sisters

The fog was thick this morning on highway 12. I was able to grab this shot while waiting for the light to change.  I like the contrast between the tree branches and the fog.

Mother Nature put on a show out on Grizzly Island today.  These fishermen were enjoying the view while waiting for the fish to bite.  Perfect end to a great weekend.

First Sunset of 2013

First Sunset of 2013,  Taken at Ocean beach.  There were a lot people at the beach today to catch the first sunset of the year.  I was lucky to find a parking spot and capture this just before the sun dip below the horizon.  Happy New Year everyone
