D240: Spinning Wheel

Came across this roadside carnival on my way home.  I had not taken my photo of the day so I stop and took a few images.  Since I'm doing the prime lens challenge this month, I only had my 50mm with me.  This was my favorite shot.  This wheel was not that colorful, but it was ok for my potd.

D236: The Book of Love

The book of love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it is just transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb
But I
I love it when you sing to me
And you
You can sing me anything
from the song "Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel

Manual/Book:  Read pages 141 to 143 "Sandwiching Images"

D235: Saving Grace

I woke up this morning with a sinus headache.  I stayed indoors all day napping and reading. I didn't have the energy to do anything else .  Several days ago I saw this flower in my neighbors  front yard.  I had plan on  photographing  it next week.  My planned photo of the day would require me to drive at least 2  miles and I was just not up to driving anywhere.  Not sure what type of flower it is but I thought it made for a nice pic of the day.

D234: Homeward Bound

The weather here in Cali was bizarre today. First, there was thunder follow by a heavy down pour. At one point it was raining so hard, I thought it was a hail storm. Finally  partly blue skies by 7pm. Strangest weather I've ever seen in California. I took the back road home and came upon this beautiful sky. I added a little HDR.

D228: Celosia

The name Celosia comes from the Greek word meaning burning, and when one is confronted with a bouquet of red, orange, and yellow blossoms, resembling fire, the name is certainly apt.   I saw these at the local nursery.   They are so beautiful.

D223: Pulley????

Not sure what this is, but it looks like some kind of pulley. It was attached to a pole near a parking lot.   At first I thought it was some type of anchor, but there was no marina or lake nearby. Any one know?

D222: Survivor

It was very windy and rainy the past two days. So, I was surprise to find these tulips still standing. There were quite a few, but this one stood out.   Half of the petals were gone, but it was still standing. Maybe it's just me, but it looks like a man sitting down with his legs hanging over the sides and his hands in the air.

D219: Leaves

After spending two days photographing flowers, my sinuses went berserk.  I decided to stay indoors today and rest.  Weapons of choice: Claritin, saline nasal spray and plenty of water .  I laid on the couch looking out  window and notice how the sun back lit  some of the leaves on one of my plants.  What really intrigued me was the details in the leaves.  Thus, my picture of the day.
